Hello,

I have a conviction for breaking a traffic signal and LC20, where I was driving on an international license. I had a perception that you can drive for a year on international license but i was unaware of the fact that the 1 year period starts from the date of first entry into the UK.
I explained it to the Magistrate Courts judge who gave me 3 points on my license and a fine of 250 pounds.

This conviction was in August 2009 and since it was a fine, the rehabilitation period will run for 5 years (August 2014)

I am currently on tier 1 general Visa and will be applying for ILR in March 2013.

I was wondering if the new criminality threshold would be applicable for people already on Tier 1 before 6th April 2011.

I would assume that the new rules should apply to people who start their 5 year period to ILR after 6th April 2011.

Am I right in thinking that my application will be assessed based on immigartion rules in place before 6th April 2011?

Would really appreciate your thoughts on this.

Thanks in Advance
