Requirements

Post by abc111 » Wed Apr 27, 2011 11:02 am

Hi,

At the moment i am some distance away from the neutralisation but thinking about gearing up well in advance and have following queries:

- how long does it take to apply for neutralisation after the grant of ILR, specially if someone has not done any volunteer work (or community integration kind of thing)?
- what kind of references will be required -I have been moving cities (due to employment reasons) and haven't known people to the extent that they will be able to provide me with the references.

pelase advise!

Thanks

Hoping that you mean naturalisation and not the more painful 'neutralisation'...you need to give more information. What category of visa do you have at present and how long have you had legal residence in the UK?
Are you married to a British Citizen?

abc111,

Looks like you are not on ILR at the moment, so its impossible to advise you anything until you are on ILR.

The point that Greenie has already made is that in 2 years time the regulations may well have changed, especially as the UKBA appear to be amending the rules every 6 months at present. Any advice for 2 years in the future would be purely guesswork.
