lost PassPort while extention is in 2month's time!

Post by syed999 » Tue May 03, 2011 12:57 am

I am new at this site and quite impressed by the number of posts and prompt replies. Good work!

I got my tier1 general stamped passport on 23 july 2008 while i was on student visa. I've got visa till 27july 2011.
NOw here I am with two months from my hsmp extention but my passport is lost somewhere.(i do have photocopies of my passport in & out as well as all stamped pages) .

Now i am in a quandary as what to do

1) Do i have to make a new pasport n send it to homeoffice immediately to get old visa stamped till july27,2011. ( what is the fee to get that done)

OR

2) I get my new passport and send it to homeoffice when i make my application for hsmp extention and explain them why my old passport is not attached as it was lost? would it work that way?

Anybody witht a similar experience etc? or any insight about this case of mine? ?

Yes.
Check with UKBA regarding the process and fees to apply for a "replacement" of a lost visa.

You can use both options.

But it will be cost effective and one step process if you go with option 2 instead of 1. When you apply for extension, attach the police report and photocopies of your previous visa and passport.

You will be granted extension easily.
