Self sufficient & compulsory health insurance

Post by mikescorpio » Tue May 03, 2011 10:48 am

HI guys,

I am EEA member who first come to UK over 6 yrs a go. Since then I was working for 4.5 yrs with no break and I got P60/letters from employer to confirm that.

Then in 2009 I have move back home (outside UK) for 4-5 months due to family reasons. In May 2009 I came back to UK and started to look for new job in UK which I manage to find in August 2009. During this time I was living in my friends house and didn't claim any benefits.

My question are:

1) How I can prove it that I was in the country in May 2009 (as a EEA members we don't have stamps in passports). I don't want Home Office to think that I was outside the country for more than 6 months and because of that I broke any of the naturalization rules. Will the cover letter explaining my situation would be sufficient enough?

2) Between May 2009 and August 2009 I was looking for a new job. Was I then self sufficient or unemployed for HO? I believe that when you state unemployed you have to give them an evidence of claiming benefits (which I didn't) if I state self sufficient I think there is an issue with compulsory health insurance which needs to be private not NHS am I right?

3) After putting your application in is HO asking/writing to applicants to send them more evidence for X Y Z or they rejecting approving application based on the initial documents they receive?

I would appreciate your help with my questions.

Thanks
M.

I can answer q1 and q3:

1) you can use ur bank statements, bills etc
3) it purely depends on the case, if the caseworker realise that documents are missing or not sufficent then he will ask for more
but if he is sure that the criteria hasn't been met, he just simply sends refusal. hope this helps

Im sure q2 will be answered by someone with more knowledge...
