Tier 1 extension- invoice query

Hello All,
Just a quick questn about invoices for self employment.

Because i intend to submit business bank statement and invoice as part of d documentation for my self employment business later this year. i am not clear whether i should date the invoice the day customers pay to my account.
or

For instance if i raise invoice for customer today and customer pays to my account in 2 days time.obviously the invoice date and date customer pays to my acct will be different.Is this right or do i need to date the invoice the same day payment is made to my bank account by customer.

Invoice is issued when you complete the work and it has no relation to customer payment date unless you have any contract with them e.g pay the amount with one week of issuing invoice.

Invoice date should be on or before the payment date. Usually invoice date is before the payment date.
