Query on UK - VISA Tier 1 Application

Query on UK - VISA Tier 1 Application

Dear All,

I have Tier-1 VISA for UK which expires on April-20-2012 and currently I am staying in UK .

I would like to know if it is OK for me to go for VISA extension now . I have the required points and been maintaining my funds since 3 months.

If it is allowed can you please tell me whether the VISA valid period starts from 20- April- 2012 or from the date I applied for renewal .
