I am applying ILR in June 2012 next year so thought to be prepared now in case of any problem.

I need to ask few question to clarify my position to apply for ILR.

1) Came to UK on student visa : 13 July 2002 and stayed student until September 2008 and then got PWS and from August 2010 i switched to Tier1 ( General).

2) I have my wife living with me in the UK along my 2 children who were also born here. Can i apply for ILR for my dependents along with my application.

Do i need to show any bank statement or savings?

I would really appreciate, if someone could advice me on that.

You appear to be making a 10-year Long Residence application for ILR. Accordingly, as regards your dependants, there is no "drag along", and they cannot make an application on the back of your application.

Your wife? How long has she been in the UK? Her current UK immigration status?

Your children? Don't worry about them, in the sense that as soon as you get your ILR, your born-in-the-UK children can apply for Registration as British Citizen under section 1(3). Such applications are an "entitlement" ... no UKBA discretion involved.

Hi John

Thanks four message. My wife got her dependent visa on October 2008 and she came to UK on January 2009 and since then she is staying in the UK.

Can she apply at the same time.

Well no, you are making a 10-year application and your wife has been here in the UK for less than 10 years, indeed less than 3 years.

As I explained before, there is no "drag along" for Long Residence applications for ILR. Instead your wife should use form FLR(M) to apply for a 2-year spouse visa.

Is there any specific fund requirement while i apply for the ILR.

If I am not wrong, there is no specific fund requirement when you apply for your 10 year long residence ILR.
