Spouse visa from Australia and previously denied visa

Post by jillenriquez » Mon Jul 25, 2011 8:34 am

Hi,

I'm an Australian citizen married to a British National. I just submitted my application form today in Sydney. Will I get an email to confirm that they have received my application? What are your experiences on processing times?

Also, I've previously applied for a Discretionary Leave to Remain visa in the UK which was denied. However, in the refusal letter they did state that my husband can apply for my entry clearance from the UK if he wishes to do so. Will this affect my chances for getting my spousal visa approved? I've disclosed all this information in my application and even included the refusal letter.

Thanks for your help.

On what basis did you apply for Discretionary Leave in the UK?

What was your immigration history in the UK up to that point?

Did you leave the UK in good time once your DL application was refused?
