Dependant visa - VAF10 (Marriage Certificate from Church)

Post by sams1enigma » Mon Sep 05, 2011 12:18 pm

Hi

I am getting married in a church this month and planning to apply for a visa immediately, would a Marriage Certificate issued from the Church of South India be acceptable and considered Valid or should I register my marriage as well to get the marriage certificate?! I hope the church marriage certificate alone should be fine. I have a time constraint as well to apply and get the visa in 15 days hence the predicament in trying to get a registered certificate from a registrar which I believe takes a week.

Currently I am about to provide in addition

1. 6 months bank statements
2. 6 months payslips
3. church marriage certificate
4. Council Tax Bill + Utility Bills + Phone Bills
5. Letter stating that i am sponsoring her
6. Covering letter by the dependant
7. Wedding Cards
8. Wedding pics
9. My Passport Copy Pages
10. P60 Tax Certificate

Should this be enough >!? :(

Do you want to risk a refusal?

If yes, apply with marriage document issued by a Church.
If no, apply with marriage certificate issued by the govt. appointed body / individual.

Your choice.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

Thanks Sushmehta :) Dont really want to take a risk, just wanted to know if any one had prior experiences of getting the Visa just with the Church issued Marriage certificate.

Guess will try and get the marriage certificate from the registrar.

Do you think the rest of my docs are sufficient or do you reckon more will be required or have i missed something :?

Church Marriage Certificates are fine as long as the church is recognised by the Govt of India
