Dear all, I would like to get some advice for my friend, she recently got married in pakistan and would like to bring her husband over. However her situation is a little complicated.
She has been on Income Support for four years ( £180 every two weeks) and I know that you need around £105-£110 a week as a couple. Well she states that she does have approx £5000 in savings wich she can dip into. Will this be ok?? to show that she can support her husband
She lives with her parents and I believe they have enough accomodation so it wont be 'overcrowded' (they own the house - so no HB or CTB)So I think in terms of accomodation she will be ok but its just the issue of her financial situation that looks difficult.
My friend suffers from depression and is not in a position to work in the foreseable future.
I was generally under the impression that if you were claiming benefits then you were not able to apply to get your spouse over, but reading the forums i was wrong, right? As long as you can prove that you can accomodate and financially support him/her stc provide all necessary documentation etc you should be ok. and you use the form VAF(4) form for all types of spouses right?
Another side issue she was thinking of getting him over as a carer because of her mental health issues is this possible?? not seen anything written to this effect on here.
Your response is much appreciated!!!
