Applying for passport after Ceremony

Post by londumpster » Tue Sep 27, 2011 3:10 pm

Hi there.

I have my Citizenship ceremony this Thursday. I wanted to find out when can I apply for my passport.

Do I have to wait for any documents to come through or I can do it right away?

Thanks

All you need is the naturalisation certificate you receive in the ceremony (together with your passport, photos and the passport form).
Strictly speaking, the counter signature on the form could only fill it in after your ceremony.

Well, we got the counter-signatory to fill up and sign the form ... and left the date field blank ...... much before naturalisation approval (leave alone ceremony).

Filled up the date on our own on the day of ceremony, applied for passport on the same day ..... received! No issues.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
