5-years on student visa - do i qualify for PR?

Post by varna1983 » Wed Jan 04, 2012 2:23 am

Dear friends,
I will appreciate if you can help me on the following matter:
I am in UK for a period of more than 5 years on a student visa. Can I apply for indefinite leave or british citizenship or I have to wait for 10 years - as far as im concerned in law there is a rule for 5 years residency?
Thnx for your help in advance!

Currently, non-EEA national students will have to wait at least 10 years before applying for ILR.
