Hi,
My cousin is from England and has done a gap year with his university to go out to a school in Saudi Arabia to teach, and went out in September 2011 and will return home 1st July 2012. While being out there, he's met a Ghanaian girl who professes to love him and wants to marry him. They met just over 2 months ago and want to marry and live in England together. However, from some of the information we have been told, such as women have to stay pure until marriage, she is different, and has told my cousin she has been with many men, which includes him. She has told him of how she hates her life in Ghana and so chooses to work at the school where they met as much as she can while its open, and that she's always wanted to live in England. My cousin is the usual English 21year old lad, and so I find it surprising that he has changed his ways and wants to marry so quick, however all I want is for him to be happy and not get hurt. His girlfriend's family apparently know of him and have said he can marry her if he converts to Muslim, but how long would that take? She has also told him that as soon as they're married she will have a visa to be in England, however I know that this is not the case. Can anyone give me advice on visas or marriages between the different cultures as I don't know a lot of information about them.
Also, how would Immigration know whether their marriage was real or was just for a visa, and how long and how much would this cost. My cousin still has not finished his university course and has no job in England and still lives with his disabled mum. If anyone could give me advice it would be much appreciated. Also, I hope I haven't offended anyone!
Thanks
