Tier 1 (General) - Extension - Age Criterion

Post by mantasingh » Sun Jan 15, 2012 7:26 pm

Hi Gurus

Please let me know whether my understanding is correct of the below. i.e. for the Age to be considered while applying for extension.

Points-based calculator - help (Age)
If you are in the UK and are applying to extend your stay you can score up to 20 points for your age. You should use your age at the date of your application for your first permission to stay as a Tier 1 (General) migrant, as a Highly Skilled Migrant, as a Writer, Composer or Artist or Self-Employed Lawyer.

Under 30 - 20 Points
31-34 - 10 Points
35-39 - 5 Points
Above 40 - 0 Points

My Understanding:
I got Initial Tier 1 General Visa when I was 27 and claimed 20 points for it. This means that I will continue to get 20 points even when I apply for my second extension when my age will be 32 Years.
(I will require Second Extension because I came late to UK and will fall short of 5 years till my first extension expires)

Please correct me as it will help me plan my future applications.
