Fingerprints at Tier-1 initial application

There is a question in my Extension form about whether I have had fingerprints taken previously. I had my Tier-1 initial application in december 2008 in Chennai, India. Does anyone remember if they took fingerprints back then?

Not sure about you or anyone else back then but I had applied for my T1 in-country in Nov 2008 & didnt give biometrics at that time

Which application centre in Nov 2008?

I somehow seem to remember some sort of scanning that happened at VAC Chennai when I applied, but for the life of me can't be sure. Not sure how to go about answering this question now! Anyone?

It was a postal application. if you had your biometrics done earlier then you probably will have a BRP ??!

It was not postal - the documents had to be submitted in person to the Visa Application Centre. But my 'vignette' is a visa in my passport - I don't have a biometric residence permit. Still doesn't answer the question if there was fingerprinting that day though

And in case others are having the same question, I checked with a friend as well, he had fingerprints taken at VFS Hyderabad in Sept 2008.

My wife applied for a Work Permit dependent visa in Nov 2008. Her finger prints were taken at Bangalore VFS. Visa was issued at Chennai.

Well this option doesn't have much significance just because you don't have a BRP with you. You just need to provide the details when and where you provided the Biometrics. Maybe there would be some sort of cross referencing but am not sure about it.

In case you made an application in India through VFS, you would have provided the biometric details at the time of application. I believe this started from 2007/2008 for applications made outside UK.
