British passport time line from overseas (egypt)

Hi,

I have got a baby recently. she was born in cairo-egypt. I had to apply for her british passport through the regional processing office in Paris.
I would like to know How long does it take to process her application? they said could take up to 6 weeks!!!
Any past experince please share
