Longer Extension

Post by ifonly » Fri Feb 10, 2012 12:31 am

Tier 1 General due for renewal in one month. Was granted three years initially back in March 2009 but entered the country eight months late. If my visa gets a standard extension of two years according to the policy guidance I will not have had stayed in the UK for five years to qualify to apply for indefinite leave to remain. It has been a very tough journey scrambling to get enough points for the earnings section so I would much rather extend once than twice. What do I need to do to ask for an extension length of two years and eight months or more in order to avoid having to exend twice to get to the ILR stage?

You can't ask for a longer extension. They only grant lengths of leave in accordance with the rules. You will have to make a second extension.
