USA Spouse to UK - UK Citizen, 18 - HELP!

Post by Alex2354 » Fri Feb 17, 2012 7:59 pm

Hi All,

I am a UK citizen from birth and I met my USA partner around 2 years ago online. We became an item around 8 months ago and I met her in the USA a week ago for 3 weeks, during that period we became married.

My now wife is looking into getting a spousal visa to come to the UK. I have searched forums and the rules on the UKBA website to a high extent but I am still ruled with confusion for the most part.

I am 18, living with parents on a full-time job earning around £900GBP per month, I don't really pay rent but help with £80 towards keep per month.

I am very confused on how to support our application in the maintainance(funds) area. I can prove I work and provide payslips for the past 6months. I and my parents do not have savings backed up however I personally can fund myself and my partner easilly and the house is on a mortgage which is paid by my father, my father earns more than enough to cover living costs but not a staggering amount. They have a credit card but use it wisely (so they don't go overboard).

I just want to know what are the likely chances and the best ways to present my evidence to the UKBA upon my partners application in the USA.

All help is incredibly appreciated. Any further information please ask!

Kind regards.
Alex
