Next to impossible to obtain permanent stay, an extension is possible as per Casa's response....apple12 wrote:Hi
I would like to ask for some advice please.
My mother is currently in this country from Nigeria on a visitor visa. At this present moment she is in hospital following an operation, the recovery for this is likely to be at least 5 months, at which point she will need a further operation. In addition to her present medical problems she also has issues with diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol. She will not be any state to travel when her visitor visa expires in November.
My mother is a 63 year old widow, my brother no longer lives in Nigeria. I am a British citizen.
I would really like to know from any one that has experience with this, how likely is it that my mother will be granted a visa to stay in the UK permanently? If this is refused what can I actually do, she will not be able to travel home.
Thanking you in advance for your help.
