Hi there
My husband and I are planning on travelling to the UK next year (from Australia) for a period up to five years to work and travel. I have dual citizenship between Australia and the UK and hold a British passport. My husband is an Australian citizen and will be travelling on his Australian passport. I am confused however in relation the spouse visa which is what my husband will need to apply for to be able to accompany me on our travels.
If I understand it correctly, it is saying that I have had to have lived in the UK and be earning 18,600 pounds before he can qualify for a spouse visa. If that is the case, that will mean that I will have to travel to the UK first, establish myself and then for him to apply for a visa and then if it is granted, join me in the UK.
We aren't looking to reside in the UK for longer than 5 years. Australia is our home. We would though like to travel and work and see the country.
Has anyone else been in this scenario or can anyone provide guidance.
Thanks
