I would like to ask for some advice regarding my case. I am looking at applying for an EEA family permit as an unmarrried partner of an EU national who is a qualified person (but still under maternity leave). My partner has given birth to our (EEA) child early this year and we are currently living together in the Philippines short of the 2 year requirement. I have read that our case can be considered under compassionate circumstances since we have a child. Also we do not have much proof of cohabitation since we have been living at my condominium unit (under my name) so we do not have tenancy agreements. We can only submit a certificate that states that she lives here with me. Unfortunately her name on the internet and cable bills at our current address have been misspelled (only one letter).
My question is, Do we have a chance at getting approved with very minimal documents to prove cohabitation?
Also I have read that for EEA family permit applications, the financial status of the couple should not have bearing on the result of the application. However I do have enough savings (more than 16,000 GBP which is required under UK immigration law as far as I know) to prove to them that we will not be a burden and resort to public funds for survival.
Would it help my application if I submitted bank certificates, or would this be completely unnecessary?
Hope to get some useful advise
