Hi,
So i have actually made a mistake on my Visa, this isn't a hypothetical.
i have completed and signed the declaration part online, and paid for the IHS Surcharge.
The error i made was, i was under the impression my Visa was for 3 years, but HR accidentally put the dates on thee COS for 2 years!!
i already put in the form that i intend to stay in the UK for 3 years and i also put my work dates for 3 years on the IHS part of the application, I was charged 3 years of IHS, 600 GBP.
I haven't booked my appointment or paid for the application and was told by the Gov.UK support teamover the phone that i could re-do a new application and provide my IHS number which would auto-calculate that it had been paid for the 2 years on my new application. or potentially may have to pay again but would receive a refund within 90 days for the duplicate payment. The status if incomplete.
From what you have written it seems it could be better to just pay for the application cross out 3 years and put 2 years (mistake as visa is 2 years) potentially get HR to provide a confirmation of the mis-understanding?
I obviously just dont want a small error effecting the decision.
I would appreciate your advice if you have had any experience with this situation?
Thanks,
Patrick
