Online status changed to DECIDED online : 27-Sep-2017 (Decided on 25-Sep-217)
Approval letter received: 29-Sep-2017 (Letter dated 26-Sep-2017)
In the approval letter it mentions that I need to wait for invitation letter, so apparently there is one more letter I need to wait for. It also mentions not to contact my local council until I receive ceremony invitation letter.
However I called my council every tuesday to check if they have received my naturalisation certificate yet, as they advised they receive naturalisation certificates every tuesday from Home Office. Once they receive it, the council can book a ceremony for you and email ceremony booking conformation. The tricky bit is even if the council can book your ceremony, you still need to wait for the ceremony invitation letter sent by Home office to you !!
So basically it works like
1. Home office posts you approval letter,
2. Home office posts to council, the naturalisation certificate
3. Home office posts you again a ceremony invitation letter (You have 21 days to arrange a ceremony from the date you receive this)
4. Now you call council to book a ceremony
5. Now council emails you ceremony appointment email
When 1 & 2 happens, you can ask/request council to do 4 & 5, however you can't attend ceremony until you receive 3 !!!!

Surely this can't be this complicated ! In this age of emails and mobile apps this can be simplified a lot better saving a lot of money for Home office and the applicants too !
Date of invitation letter: 10-Oct-2017
Date of ceremony: 15-Nov-2017 (My council only conducts ceremony once every 6 weeks !!)
Date passports printed and posted: 22-Nov-2017 (Strangely they sms-ed to my wife's number instead of my mobile number !!)
Date passports attempted delivery: 24-Nov-2017 (We were present at home waiting for delivery literally at the window watching every minute and nobody turned up or posted any card. However had an sms, again to my wife mobile (!) saying they attempted delivery and no body at home so they left calling card! They was no calling card left. So called Dx delivery and complained )
Date passports re-attempted delivery: 25-Nov-2017 ( phew atlast !!!! )
I really appreciate and thanks the moderator and everyone for keeping this forum running. This forum has been very helpful during my stressful and doubtful times. I wish good luck for all future applicants and keep this forums running to help each other and share the knowledge. One small learning I have taken from this forums is to please dont take any comments personal and to be graceful, patient, humble and forgiving to each other. Please be mindful of people's emotions as they have paid in thousands of pounds and are desperately waiting for results involving families and kids futures, but most of the times literally left in dark room. This forum has been a blessing during such occasions. Thanks to all and wish all of you good luck.
My long journey ends here.
