Spouse visa

Post by sar38 » Mon Oct 01, 2018 3:14 pm

Hi Guys,

Need all your help on the documents required to fulfill the accommodation requirements.

I'm applying for a spouse visa for my wife.
I'm a British and my wife is an Indian.

I and two of my friend together rented the five-bedroom property which includes two reception room, one study room, one utility area, one Spam and two bathrooms with the toilet from an estate agency.

Now to fulfill the accommodation requirements I have the following documents:

1. I have a letter from an estate agent stating that there are currently four people living at this address and more than adequate space to accommodate the fifth person. Also, be notified not to break the overcrowding housing act.

2. Tenancy agreement includes names of all the four-person currently living at this property.

I'm confused about whether it should be an issue??   since the estate agent said"  he has rented it to a group of family members and there is no need of HMO (House of multiple occupancies) licenses for this"
Also, do I have to submit the housing inspection report??

You will need from landlord giving permission for your wife to live there.

Also, an up to date (less than 3 month old) Independent House Inspection report to show no overcrowding when wife arrives - which you have stated you have.

Thanks for your reply.

Estate agent mentioned in his letter that he is happy for me to live in the property with my wife and also i have utility bills such as broadband and phone bills under my name at this property as i'm living in this property since 2017.

But i don't have a housing inspection report. Do you think it's mandatory to provide the housing inspection report though i have estate agent's letter, copy of tenancy agreement, and utility bills?

In your case the House Inspection Report is mandatory as you have non-relative adults living in the same property.

Also try to make sure that tenancy agreement have at least 6 months remaining.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Hi, it's a short hold tenancy agreement which is renewed every 6 months. I renewed my agreement in the month of June and is valid until December and my wife's intended date of travel is around Christmas time . (December 2018) . Will it be an issue then ??? as i could renew it only in December.

You can explain the 6 month renewal details on your support letter / extra information section
