Looking for some advice on our spouse application

Post by exvalery » Thu Jun 20, 2019 7:25 pm

Hi everyone,

We're just about ready to submit our application, and frankly I'm terrified :| . Can anyone tell me whether our application includes sufficient evidence? We are working with a solicitor, but I'd like a second opinion too.

Our circumstances:
I'm a british citizen, my wife is Israeli. We're living in Israel, have been married for two years, and are together for 6.5 years.

Our documents:

English Language: IELTS Life Skills A1

Accommodation: We'll be staying with my sister. We have:
* A letter from her
* A property inspection report
* A mortgage statement.

Relationship
* Marriage certificate from Cyprus (where we got married in a civil ceremony, which isn't done in Israel but is recognised)
* Photos from our wedding and other photos with friends and family
* Joint bank account ownership confirmation to show shared finances

Financial Requirement
We're relying on cash savings, they come from my employment, as well as a gift from her parents.
* Bank statements showing the money in our possession for the past 6 months
* Letter from her parents confirming the gift
* Statement from their bank going back 6 months before the transfer, up until the transfer itself
* Letter of employment confirmation by my employer, specifying the monthly salary. No payslips.
* Letter of employment by her employer. No payslips and it doesn't specify the salary.

The reason it's not trivial for us to supply payslips is because they'll be in Hebrew, and translating them will be very expensive.

Did we miss anything? Is there anything else we should include on our application to make sure we're 100%?

Fine.
Accommodation: We'll be staying with my sister. We have:
* A letter from her
* A property inspection report
* A mortgage statement.
Perhaps add the most recent council tax bill.
Relationship
* Marriage certificate from Cyprus (where we got married in a civil ceremony, which isn't done in Israel but is recognised)
* Photos from our wedding and other photos with friends and family
* Joint bank account ownership confirmation to show shared finances
Are you both living in Israel? If yes, you should try submit evidence of this to prove your relationship.
How much savings do you have?? Her salary and employment is irrelevant and not required to be submitted.
The reason it's not trivial for us to supply payslips is because they'll be in Hebrew, and translating them will be very expensive.
Here income in Israel is completely irrelevant and will be disregarded.

Hi, thanks for your reply!

1. We do have official copy entries for the property too. Is that enough or do you still think we should get a council tax bill?

2. We're both employed by Israeli companies, which they can see from our employment confirmation letters. Our utility bills are not joint (they don't do that in Israel). Our rental agreement is extremely long, and translation would cost a fortune. Any idea what else we could submit to evidence this?

3. We have over 63K in GBP, and additional sums in NIS.

4. The reason for her employment confirmation is really more about evidencing what we say in the form, that she's employed. It's what our solicitor advised. Do you think it could be a problem?

Her employment is completely irrelevant to the application and any such documents will be disregarded and could cause delays.

If you are relying purely on savings then even your employment documents are not required.

Don't complicate the application unnecessarily.

You don't have to have joint utility bills, even items in I'd ividual names at the same address will suffice.

Any documents not in English must be translated, the whole document.

Hi,

I just realised - one of our bank statements shows both of our names and is addressed to our joint address. Is that proof enough of us living here, together?

Thanks,
Josh
