Spouse visa confusion: visa4uk been replaced with new application system

Post by Fuzion » Tue Oct 15, 2019 3:37 pm

Hi all,

I need some help with the spouse visa application. I will be starting one soon but just doing my research prior to the application.

The UK government has stopped the visa4uk application system and it seems to have been replaced with their new .gov official system. On the visa4uk system they had an option, “apply on behalf of someone”. Where on the new system I don’t see that option. It’s only the applicant who can apply I believe.

On the new system, I have a few questions:
Main option on system is: Apply from outside UK < I have to choose this option. My spouse is in India and I’m based here in the UK.

Questions:
1. Can I ask my spouse to create an account and I make the application on her behalf? Because most of the documents are required of me.
2. Do you advise me to create account on my name and also do the application? But I’m already based in the UK.
4. I will also have to make all the payments.
3. The new system has ‘documents’ section: if my spouse has to fill in the online application form. How will she be able to upload the documents? I.e. relationship, our pics together, my payslips, my bank statements. Or do I have to post these documents in a file by printing the online form?

I’m very confused. There’s hardly any information on the new system on how to do the application on it. I watched a lot of YouTube videos but they all have visa4uk application system on it. I rang immigration solicitors here but they didn’t seemed up to date with the latest system.

Please help and thanks in advance.

You can still use visa4uk for your application but the recommended website the ACCESS UK which is user friendly and offers self upload than visa4uk.

You can create the account in your partners name and user your email address.

Remember, Your partner is the applicant and they MUST apply from abroad and you will need to answer the questions in the form as the applicant and NOT as sponsor except where question arises you fill your information. Once you have filled all the form online then you will be asked to pay for IHS surcharge fee then be directed to your local commercial partner either TLS or VFS and you will upload your supporting documents on there. In order to do self upload your documents then you will need to ensure all documents is in PDF format and must below 10mb.

Thank you for your reply.

On the visa4uk it says it’s now closed for new applicants te and only available to use for fewly named countries.

One of my friend, on the visa4uk website, he created an account on her spouse’s behalf (clicked: apply for myself), he filled the form himself from UK and also made the payments. Also his spouse filled the form and proof read on regular basis.

I was thinking if I can do the same on the Access UK? Create an account on my spouse name, fill the form where my bits are required, upload the required documents, she can also update her required documents and proof read the application?

Regarding the payments: at the end, would it be ok if I make the payments from UK on the website? Or do I need to transfer money on my spouse’s bank and then she make the payment?

Thank you in advance.

Yes you can do that but don't forget that the application form is meant for the applicant like I said before and you can also make payment on behalf of the applicant and beware of hidden fees when paying with debit card.

Thank you soo much mate for clearing.

So Just to make sure:

I will create an account on my wife’s name, fill the application as an applicant, fill my bits where sponsour information are required, upload the documents using accessuk system. My wife will also login and proof read the whole application form. I will make all the payments on the website.

My question is on the declaration part: it asks I believe ‘who filled the form’ do I need to put my name or my wife’s the applicant?

I believe mostly all the sponsors fill the visa application forms on behalf of their applicants which is a lot easier as we have most of our details ready.

Thank you in advance.

Don't confuse visa4uk application form with ACCESS UK, I haven't come across anywhere it will ask you that but if it does then you will need to say your form is filling the form since she's the applicant.
