Mention she is self-employed and attach the statement of accounts and her most recent tax return. it will be fine.Andrew1972 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 8:15 amHi everyone
Just about to submit my wife's citizenship application
When it came to the part about employment I'd appreciate a bit of guidance
She registered a business back in 2021 to make home made cakes. Now, she does intend to try and expand the business and make some more more money, but so far she just makes cakes on occasion and sells them, but not many, and the income is well under £1,000 per year. That means, as per the HMRC rules, she doesn't need to declare it. Having said that, she has filled out a tax return anyway, showing she has nothing to pay
Is this self employed status even worth mentioning on the application, since in the HMRC's eyes she doesn't even need to submit a tax return?
Elsewhere on the form she does submit her NI number, will that flag anything if she doesn't mention she's self employed (even though not making any money, as of yet)
Thanks!
Andrew
If you have the cert no harm in providing it too.Andrew1972 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 3:44 pmHi
My wife has the reference numbers that were emailed to her for passing both the required English language test, and the Life In The Uk test
We put both of these reference numbers in the application as requested. Is it also necessary for us to provide certificates as well (We only provided reference numbers for the ILR application)
Thanks
