Dependents Bank Account

Post by kashiflm » Fri Apr 10, 2009 3:20 pm

Hi Guys

I planning to apply for Tier1 in about three months from now. Is it OK if I open a new Joint Bank Account with me and my Fiancee included now, to be an asset to prove our relation. Would 2 months of Joint Bank account would be accepteable to the immigration officer for a dependent Tier 1 visa?

I also have pictures, letters, phone bills, my own bank statements showing credit more than the required (£2800+£1600) and a wedding Invitation showing prospect marriage plans.

Thanks

You can maintain separate Bank account of you and your fiancee and use it for maintenance funds. Why you want to open Joint Account?

I doubt that prospect marriage plans are considered for dependents. You cannot do that.

You would need to show minimum 3 months of savings, to qualify for the maintenance requirement. This can be through a joint account, or separate accounts. The total amount should meet expected sum.

You can show wedding invitation, which would be helpful. But it might be sticky if they expect some more information about your fiance. Obviously you would be expected to marry before you travel.

I am going to show two bank accounts, first one is my own personal account in USA which would show the maintainance fund of (1600+2800) for three months and the second one is in India (to make the relation look more stronger) is a savings account of my own and my fiancee is added into that account as a mandate who can access money anytime.

My wish is to get married in UK even though I and my fiancee are Indian nationals. If the visa is granted can we get into UK without getting married, or we need to get married prior to moving to UK ?

I am going to submitt both main and the dependent Tier 1 application from USA.

Some one please help me find an answer.

Kashif,

I was watching "Border Patrol", two days back. It was showing exactly same case as yours, where a person was coming to UK to get married to his girl friend/fiancee. Immigration Officer refused this guy entry into UK as he had visitor visa and to get married in UK, you need to have different configuration. You might have to consider all possibility here, making visa application complicated could bring more trouble for you(if not granted in the first time).
Also there are lot of fraud happened in past around this issue especially when relationship break-up. Worth considering your options seriously. It will not be a straight forward case.

You can go ahead. There is no problem as such. Read these clauses in the immigration rules

I am trying to get Tier 1 General Visa for me and my dependent Fiancee. I am not taking a visitors visa to UK or USA. I did read the rules before even thinking about it.

I justed wanted to know if you guys know anything (evidence) which I can provide to make the relation between me and my fiancee look stronger in front of the immigration officer.

Thanks Push

I have three more questions:

1. Is Entry Clearance for Fiancee a "Immigrant Visa" or a "Non-Immigrant Visa".

2. Can I submit the Entry Clearance Form with my Tier 1 Application or it would need to be submitted separately.

3. I live in USA and she lives in India. So would an Interview be required for my Fiancee in India.

I am thankfull for your answers.

Can anyone help me find answer to the following:

1. I know that Tier 1 General visa is an immigrant visa but I want to know if Entry Clearance visa for Fiancee a "Immigrant Visa" or a "Non-Immigrant Visa".

2. Will there be any mandatory in-person interview for my Fiancee to get an Entry Clearance visa in India.

Thanks
