Salary as part of final exit settlement.

Post by ramaharishg » Mon Sep 21, 2009 9:37 am

Hi,

I am planning to apply for Tier 1(General) Visa next month. I have a problem with respect to my earnings. I quit my job and left after serving 2 months notice period. However I have not yet received the final settlement (including the two months notice period salary and some other allowances etc) credit in my bank account (my salary is credited directly to bank). Can I claim these earnings for my earnings points.

I have the payslips & final settlement statement and I can get a letter from my previous employer saying that this amount is due to me from the company.

Can I claim these earnings even though I have no bank credit to show for it?

Thanks.

For previous earnings, you need to show evidence from two different sources. The payslips and final settlement statement are from the same source,i.e., your ex-employer. Thus, you will need to show a corresponding entry via bank statements. I suggest that you push your ex-employer to have this credited in your bank account asap.

If i am in your shoes. i would wait for the money to be credited into the bank account.. and since it is still in process.. please make sure when you get the total settlement amount credit.. you also have the payslips in ur hand.. becos settelement amounts includes many things and this payslip will clear all those doubts of caseworker..
2proofs from different souces are compulsory so if the money is not credited in the bank the caseworker will not accept as it is not reflected inthe bank-statements.. wait...

Thanks. I will pressurize my employer to pay the money asap.

I have another query - Will it be a problem if the credit in the bank account is after a few months after the salary is earned as I will be getting the salary credited 4-5 months after.

Get an additional letter from your company explaining the time gap between worked days and payment day.

You need to be cautious however that you can still meet the 12 out of past 15 months window.
Please do not send me any Private Messages as I do not check these.

OK. I will get a letter from my ex- employer.

I have planned it such that I meet the 12 months out of 15 months window comfortably.
