The logical explanation is that you are looking for a problem that does not exist. If you are told it will take 3 to 6 months, why can't you just accept that?
John, I have sent you PM, plz help.

thanks for you post

as i stated on my first post i have been in UK 15 years and i had my ILR in 1998 , so i could have applied for citizenship 11 years ago , but i did not

so i did send an application last month on 5 JAN 2010 , and the HO received it on 11 JAN 2010
i did call them friday 5 FEB 2010 and the lady i spoke to did not say the application is under consideration or any thing , she only said : between 3 and 6 months

brothers has any one have a logical explanation to this ?as from the voice of the lady i smelt some sort of bad news

Thanks to you all and CONGRATULATION TO those who got the good news

haha brother ...is just a paranoia thing ...dont worry ..everything will go smoothly as possible ...what are you scared of ...if your application is straight forward then you shouldnt be worry that way ...i'm trying to give you some comfort and support ..as i need it my self too :)

but i wish for you all the best and that you will receive your approval soon..incha-allah

with strength :P

hi joelondon

I think the NCS IS the best way to send your application because they check all your documents before they send them to the HO ,and some time they can even call the HO -if some of your document are not clear- to double check then they give you a receipt and they send the form the same day or the day after

Hello friends,

My timeline is :

NCS or Postal : NCS Manchester
Date of submission or posting : 26/01/2010
Date recieved by HO: 27/01/2010
CRITERIA: 1+3+3 and backdated ILR (HSMP JR)
Date of debit of Card : 29/01/10

Date receipt of acknowledgement : 04/01/10 (dated 29/01/10)
Date of approval : Pending
Date of receipt of approval : Pending
Date of citizenship Ceremony : Pending

Date of passport application : Pending
Method used : Pending
Date for passport Interview: Pending
Date of Receipt of Passport: Pending

Can anyone advise how long Council keeps the naturalization certificate. I need to go abroad for approx 3 months on company's business and leaving in 3 days. By looking at the timeline for other colleagues on this forum, I can see that the approvals are not taking more than 45 days in most cases.

So what will happen if I am unable to pick my certificate for say 45 days ?. I know if its absolute must then I can request company to grant leave for a few days to travel back to UK to collect the certificate, however this will not be liked by management (I know that). Is there any provision available that allows a delayed citizenship ceremony?

I am looking forward to your advice please. Thanks

I submitted my application through NCS. They said they will post the application by the end of the day. How do I get hold of the Postal ref number from them?

Also is there any ref number for the application itself....

London102: My understanding of the UKBA rules is that you have to take your citizenship ceremony within 90 days of the receipt of your approval letter. Check out the follwing website:

http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/britis ... /ceremony/

It looks like the Council will keep your certificate for 90 days, but given that you want to go away for 3 months, you may be cutting it too fine.

Gainvidya: Your NCS recepit should have the Royal Mail reference number (13 digit code). You can track delivery of your letter at the following Royal Mail website:

http://track.royalmail.com/portal/rm/tr ... gear=track

It should normally reach the Home Office in 2 days.

Thanks Safwan, I am sure we will get good news soon. It is just frustrating that we have to wait for something which should be straightforward.

Congratulations to the others who have received theirs. :)
