I personally think it is a bad idea to contact them at this point. We are given 12 weeks for a decision and from experience, if we request information before this time has elapsed, that is the answer you get. I also think we need to empathise with the people in cairo, their city, friends and family are affected directly by the unrest and it is a difficult time for everyone. I appreciate that we are in the same boat, our loved ones, family and friends are also affected which makes things even worse for us sitting back at home.
I think if we argue that we need a quicker response it could have a negative effect rather than a positive. We need to keep praying for the people of Egypt and keep in touch with our families to make sure they are safe and patiently wait. I know it is hard, stressful and very emotional, I miss my husband more than anything and every day that goes past is so hard, but they are still working and we will get our decisions soon. Plus, do you really want your other halves going to cairo to pick up documents at the moment? I know I am very relieved that my husband is safely in Sharm, well away from harm's way!
This is obviously just my opinion, but I personally believe that we can only be days away from a decision now.
Best of luck to everyone and my prayers are with your Egyptian families xx
