you can use your Driving license as an ID if you wish soVN wrote:I know it's not difficult, that is the very reason I would like to pass it in a couple of weeks time, before I actually receive the passport back.
it will be amended at some point in the nearest future to include some info about uk history. obviously, if I have to, I will learn and pass it, but I could do with less headache in my life at the moment, so I'm eager to do it ASAP.
not sure they will allow me, though, since all my IDs are with HO
unfortunately, I'm not a driver, so I don't have a licenseinnocentdevil wrote:

which is what you should do. other than this speech from the PM in October, there hasn't been much else about the LITUK test and no indication it is going to change imminently. I think you are making an issue out of nothing - just wait for a decision on your ILR.VN wrote:unfortunately, I'm not a driver, so I don't have a licenseinnocentdevil wrote:

my husband can though
I sent them an email asking if I can pass the test with a copy of my passport and the confirmation letter from HO, where they confirm that they have received my application
I suspect their reply would be to wait till I get my papers back
can they do that??? that would be utterly unfair! the test results have no expiry date, no they mention anywhere that you have to pass it within specific time frame before you apply for citizenship, to make sure you pass the latest oneGreenie wrote:and what if they change it and say you have to take the new test instead!VN wrote:you might be right

I am being slightly facetious however the point i am making is that you have read one article on the guardian website and have gone into a panic about taking the test whilst you are still waiting for you ILR and will have to wait at least a year before applying for citizenship. If they change it as has been suggested in this speech, then it will only be to include different sets of questions, not necessarily to make it any hard. They haven't changed the test since it was introduced so there is no precendent for it. I think you are causing yourself stress for no reason.VN wrote:can they do that??? that would be utterly unfair! the test results have no expiry date, no they mention anywhere that you have to pass it within specific time frame before you apply for citizenship, to make sure you pass the latest oneGreenie wrote:and what if they change it and say you have to take the new test instead!VN wrote:you might be right

at the end of the day, how am i supposed to know when they are planning to change it... I pass the test when it suits me, since, as mentioned, there are no restriction or guidance on when this needs to be done.
