Run away wedding - Need help for spouse visa application

Post by MrsKanna » Wed May 02, 2007 8:59 am

Hi,
I need your advice in applying for a spouse visa.
I am currently on HSMP ...I am working only for the past 2 months…
I am planning to go to India this month and get married to my guy…

By the time of application I would be having the following proofs
3 months payslips/bank statement
Our marriage certificate
Marriage photos

There will be no wedding invitations as this is going to be a simple secret wedding. Our parents don’t approve of it and would not know of it.
Please guide me on what other proof would be needed for this application? And what sort of verification would be involved in this process.

And also could you let me know the waiting time for spouse visa application from India.

And one more stupid question…Should we apply for spouse visa application from India or UK…
And I guess we need to submit both our passports with that…So it is possible to submit the application when I come to UK…

You have not said where your guy is currently living? In India? Then the spouse visa application must undoubtedly be made there.

But is he currently living legally in the UK? If so the answer might be different.

Apart for the doc u have listed. Also I guess u both may need updates in passport of entry of spouse. That may or may not be tricky thing since u want to keep ur marriage secret.
Best of luck for two adventures at same time, First making country switch & second marriage secret. God give u good emotional support as u will badly require this in coming time

Simar,

Thanks a lot for those kind and understanding words.

Yes I would get the our passport updated with the entry of spouse. That tip was very helpful.

So the final list of documents we would be submitting

1) Our marriage certificate
2) Our passports wth spouse updated.
3) 3 months payslips/bank statement.
4) Marriage photos.

Would this be enough.

Awaiting your reply..

Thanks

I think those documents should be enough.Maybe some other proof of relationship can be attached as well!
I think you can apply for the spouse visa for your husband when you reach the UK, and I don't think it is necessary for you to be in India as well. But the British embassy in India would probably require a photocopy of your passport and proof of employment/residency permits/HSMP visa as well. Dont worry if you don't have time to add your husband's name to your passport or change your name. You can explain that in a letter.

Thanks for the reply.

Also do I need to submit Proof of accomodation where we are going to stay in UK along with the application.?Would the rental agreement suffice?..What else should I need to produce.

Is it the VAF2 application form for HSMP dependent visa.

You will need 6months bank statements and Payslips im afraid otherwise your application will be delayed an will recieve a letter asking for the them anyway,

you will also need to show accomodation , with the sizes of the rooms, get a council surveyor to do this and they will give a letter advising how many people it is suited for , to prove there wont be overcrowding. If its rented you will need the rental agreement and a letter from the landlord to say he is happy for your partner to move in with you.

you will also need evidence of contact, such as phone bills, emails, letters etc

Hi,
But I have this job only for 2 months now.
This is a permanent job with a constant income.I read somewhere that the spouse visa wouldn't be a problem if the income is constant.

Waiting for another 3 months would be painful. The main reason being another 3 monhts would mean October and as everyone knows the job market in UK would be in a sleep mode in November December..I do not want my husband to come here and land in the deadlock situation.

Moderators...Senior members...Please advise..IS 6 months payslip mandatory...

If there are more chances of your application getting delayed anyways then why take the chance and cause unnecessay problems for yourself.

Collect all the required evidence and make your case solid so that there are no chances of your application getting delayed or in the worst case scenario, rejected.

I dont see it mentioned that 6 months payslip/bank statement is a must anywhere in the VAF2 application form.??? Wouldn't 3 months be enuf ??...Why would that mean trouble for my spouse getting a VISA....

Comeon 6 months ?. My wife & KID got VISA(hsmp dependent) with me showing 1 month salary slip on permanent job. rental agreement of 2 bed room terrace house was shown as I have one kid. In your case even studio flat is fine as you will be living as couple with no kids

It all depends on the ECO who will be looking at the OP's case.

Simar: In your case you have been married for a number of years and also have a kid. So there was less chances of you being questioned about the validity about your marriage.

In case of the OP, the situation is slight different...
