Yes, I know that chen cases are to be self sufficient. But my question was whether we are still able to claim benefits?. Because it is not necessary that in a period of 5 years in uk someone will not always be employed. and at some part of time may require state help or funds.Amebo wrote:Jambo wrote:Under Chen you are expected to be self sufficient and not to be a burden on the state by claiming public funds.
Please what is chen? can you guys plss explain to me brief orwithout abrivation. Thanks
what is DRC?Jambo wrote:Someone is not expected to be employed all the time but he is expected not to rely on public funds. That's the whole point of self sufficient. Being able to maintain yourself without help.
You should also be aware that the HO view is that DRC doesn't lead to PR (after 5 years) under the EEA Regulations.
The question is unreasonable burden and not simply burden .Jambo wrote:Under Chen you are expected to be self sufficient and not to be a burden on the state by claiming public funds.
kreativzon wrote:Hello Everyone,
Do you know any reliable private health insurance companies where we can get cost effective CSI?
We are in the process of applying EEA FP from Portugal.
Secondly, does any one know what amount of bank statement is required for EEA FP - 2 adults and 2 children??
Regards,
Jambo wrote:It is worth adding that you apply under Chen as self sufficiency and CSI normally not required for EEA FP
kreativzon wrote:Ok, So what I understand is that for EEA FP CSI is not required but it is good if we add it, am i right?
And, when we apply for EEA2 from Uk then we need CSI right?
Any information will be very helpful for us at this moment.
kreativzon wrote:Hello All,
We are in the process of Applying EEA Family permit on basis of CHEN case.

Is there anyone who can guide us on this please? We only have one week to go so need to confirm if we do not miss out nay important documents for the visa.
Thank you in advance

Obie wrote:Are you applying for an EEA family permit or a derivative Residence Card?
You need to show that you have sufficient resource, and the child will not be an unreasonable burden on the UK.
Medical insurance and Evidence of Sufficient resources , and the source of it may be required.
kreativzon wrote:How can I apply Derivative residence Card outside uk?
I am applying EEA FP to enter UK and will be applying for DR card from uk?
Does it sound reasonable?

Sorry I did not go through the rules. I do not mean to rush in. I apologise for this and I will be careful and more patient.
Thanks
